Jim & Lanny from Minneapolis MN rode their Bromptons and Amtrak to meet me in Red Wing MN.
John D. from Cedar Rapids IA rode with me on his Surly Steamroller from Ellis Spoke (bicycle & barber shop) all the way out of town to Ely via the Hoover Nature Trail.
I met Terry (with a carbon fiber Trek) & Mike (with a Masi) from Missouri at the Sonics in Port Gibson MS, just off the Natchez Trace. They were looking for breakfast; I for lunch. They were en route to a Mississippi River Trail meeting in New Orleans. Had I not decided to stay an extra night at Grand Gulf Military Park Campground (and left most of my stuff there) I might have ridden with them to Natchez State Park.
Nathan W. from Houston TX rolled into Jim’s Camping Area (private campground) in New Roads LA on the return leg of his ACA Southern Tier tour to the east coast of Florida on his Surly Long Haul Trucker. He had left home just before I did, and had all kinds of interesting road stories to tell.
